Suspicious Autorun.inf Detected!

Looking for the ‘Start Scan’ option or Autorun Eater seems to be silent?

Autorun Eater monitors all your *drives in real-time, so there’s no need for an option to scan a specific drive.

The ‘detection message box’ ONLY appears when a suspicious ‘autorun.inf’ file is present in any of the drives. If nothing appears, your drives is probably void of any ‘autorun.inf’ file(s). Just to be safe, scan the drive with an updated anti-virus app if you doubt it’s safe to access.

The ‘detection message box’ looks like this:

From the message box you get details like which drive was cleaned, whether the suspicious ‘autorun.inf’ was successfully removed or not and what suspicious files are present so you can manually remove them if needed.

You don’t have to worry about starting the scan or any other options you need to tweak. Autorun Eater is designed to be as hands-free as possible so that you, the user, can concentrate on your work.

*Drives A: and B: must be manually scanned, CD/DVD drives are not scanned. If in doubt, you can prevent CD/DVDs from auto-playing by holding down your keyboard’s Shift key when you insert the CD/DVD.

Hello there. Thanks for this but the program told me there were autorun.infs on my drives and that a malware was trying to write them back. How do i identify these malwares and get rid of them? Thanks…

Old McDonald: Hello there Ola, thank you for using Autorun Eater. When you said that the malware was trying to write the files back(autorun.inf), did you mean the Autorun Eater message box kept on appearing even after you close it? If this is this is the case, you can refer to the suspicious files listed down in the message box, and search for it in the Task Manager(ctrl+alt+del) and end the process. But the best way is of course to install a good antivirus, update it, and scan your whole computer.

If problem still recurs, please feel free to reply. Thank you for the feedback.

i try this one. but the maleware is creating its self back!! someone help me?
    how to stop it?

Old McDonald: Please exit Autorun Eater, then use an updated anti-virus software to clean the virus first. Then only use Autorun Eater to remove the autorun.inf file.

Autorun Eater is best used to PREVENT malwares from getting in first, not after.

Hi there…. i like the this program but there are small thing

can you make all autorun.inf that exist in flash disks(camera….key flash… ;) as virus
not how that only subsuct ….

because let you make this program as static shield no like anti-virus that must always updtae
and diside how is subsict and how not

DELETE ANY! Autorun.inf and its flow .EXE file always from flash disk
    BEFORE they run as autorun

Old McDonald: You mean to say delete all autorun.inf files, irregardless be it in flash disks, memory cards and other types of removable storage devices? Well, yes Autorun Eater has an in-built function to do just that so no worries.

As for deleting .exe files, that’s a bit tricky and that’s the job for anti-virus softwares to determine if it really is malicious. Hope that helped, thank you for the feedback!
